what we do
The office at Asylum Welcome

Here's a summary of what we do - you can find out more by clicking on anything underlined.

- We give advice to asylum seekers and refugees by holding regular drop in and appointments sessions held at our offices;

- We co-ordinate visitors to detainees in Campsfield House detention centre and help detainees access the services they need;

- We offer an education advice service from our offices and English classes for asylum seekers;

- We work with young refugees by running clubs and holiday activities;

- We work with families - living in the community with young children is one of the most difficult things refugees experience when they first arrive

- We raise awareness of asylum seekers in the community through education day schools, cultural and artistic events, workshops and speakers.

- We lobby MPs and Public Officials for change and work alongside other organisations to support asylum seekers and refugees.

- We work with the media to present an accurate picture of asylum seekers and raise local awareness of their positive contributions and of the issues that adversely affect them.
