Man pushing trolley

by Albert

"This was interesting. There were all sorts of things in the cart – a gold tin, a chair, even some jewels. The man was quite old and the cart very heavy. I guess he was taking it to the university."
"I am 16. I come from Ghana. I have been here in Oxford for three weeks. I had never left my village before. It is near the border with Cote d’Ivoire and one day bad people came from there and attacked us. I was living with my father. I don’t know where he is now. I had to leave. I escaped with some friends and came to England. But I lost my friends in London.

I met Rory when I was playing football at the Mish. When he suggested the photography project I thought it would be fun and I didn’t have anything else to do. Most of the time I am just alone in the house. I enjoyed going out with Rory and Aliyu and seeing new parts of Oxford.

I thought it would be fun to take some of the photos at an angle. The photos are really good – I didn’t expect them to be so good because I had never taken photographs before."
