Street scene

"I was actually interested in the tower in the background but I like this picture because there is so much going on. The man picking up rubbish, the students hurrying to their classes, the woman with the bunch of flowers, the lady rushing in the opposite direction, the buses... it is about daily life in Oxford."
"I am 16. I am from Kano in Nigeria. I have been in Oxford for one month. At first it was very hard. I stayed in a house with other young men from different countries. None of them spoke English, so I couldn’t talk to them. Now things are getting better. I am meeting new people and doing a computer course. I have applied to do my A levels this September.
At first I did the photography project because it was fun. I went with Rory and Albert and visited parts of the city I had never seen before. I enjoyed taking the pictures but didn’t think they would be that great. But when I saw them I was blown away – they were really good. I am really pleased with them."
